Available Scholarships in Social Work
The department currently has five scholarships available for social work students:
- The Anonymous Endowed Scholarship for MSW Students
- The Equality Scholarship
- The Nancy Kester Neale Endowed Scholarship
- The Stephanie Aneta Randall Memorial Scholarship
- The PhoenixRising Scholarship
The Anonymous Endowed Scholarship for MSW Students
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide scholarship support for a graduate student working towards a degree in Social Work (MSW), limited to the two-year tract (not applicable to a one-year program). Additionally, students participating in off-campus cohorts or part-time programs requiring more than two years for the degree completion may apply. It is the Donor’s preference that this award be directed to a single parent, or a married parent if there are no qualified single parents. Further, it is the Donor’s preference that this award be directed to a student who demonstrates financial need and possesses a minimum grade point average of 3.3. This award is to be renewable for the recipient’s second year provided the recipient possesses the required grade point average at the satisfactory completion of the first year.

The Nancy Kester Neale Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship supports a full-time student who demonstrates financial need and is a social work major with a 3.0 minimum grade point average. Special consideration will be given to a student who exhibits a strong commitment to community and social services. This scholarship is funded by Drs. Nancy and Russell Neale.
The Stephanie Aneta Randall Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship supports scholarship for a full-time student who demonstrates financial need and is a social work major with a 3.0 minimum grade point average. Special consideration will be given to a student who exhibits a strong commitment to community and social services. This scholarship is funded by Nicholas Randall in loving memory of Stephanie Aneta Randall, his daughter.
The Phoenix Rising Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide scholarship support for a junior student majoring in Social Work. It is the donor’s preference that this award be directed to a female student who is a mother of one or more minor children, or in the alternative, a male student who is a father to one or more minor children. Further, it is the donor’s preference that this award be directed to a student who demonstrates financial need and possesses a minimum grade point average of 3.3. This award is to be automatically renewable for the recipient’s senior year provided the recipient possesses a minimum 3.3 grade point average at the completion of her or his junior year. If there are no qualified applicants for the scholarship majoring in Social Work, preference should accrue to qualified applicants enrolled in the Gerontology Certificate Program.
